Importantly Microdacyn is non-damaging to our own cells that are involved in healing. Products that contain the ingredients chlorhexidine, hydrogen peroxide or povidone iodine are highly damaging to our cells which can result in stinging as well as slower healing.
Stop using hydrogen peroxide! Did you know international guidelines on wound care (IWII 2016) recommend not to use hydrogen peroxide for wounds.
Microdacyn is used in many of New Zealands district health boards, hospitals and clinics. ACC recommend Microdacyn use for all wound types, including first aid to reduce infection and aid healing (2017).
